Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Margaret Bennett, age 82 of Choudrant, La will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Mr. Jeff Hogan officiating. Burial will follow in Choudrant Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Joyce was born January 25, 1944 in Calhoun, LA to Shelton and Maggie Boyd Audirsch and she passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Ruston, LA. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Joyce devoted her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home filled with warmth and kindness. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved.
Joyce was known for her caring heart and generous spirit. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and found happiness in making others feel welcome. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Joyce often assisted her neighbor with housekeeping. She also loved working in her yard and took pride in keeping it beautiful. In earlier years, Joyce enjoyed raising and spending time with her Yorkies, which brought her much joy and laughter.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Shelton and Maggie Audirsch; two sisters and eight brothers. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy Gene Bennett; son, Donald Wayne Bennett; grandchild, Michael Bennett and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Holly Bennett and Peyton Bennett; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tony Soto, John Ed Colvin, Danny Crawford, Terry Canterberry, Robbie Canterberry, Philip Canterberry, and Caleb Collins.
Joyce will be remembered for her love, devotion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the cherished memories she leaves behind.
