Secretary of State Landry pays visit to Lincoln Parish prior to Saturday’s election

Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry visited Lincoln Parish on Thursday to thank the local election officials and staff working behind the scenes to prepare for Saturday’s election.

During her visit, Secretary Landry met with Lincoln Parish Clerk of Court Linda Cook and Lincoln Parish Registrar of Voters Sharon Parnell, along with members of their teams, as they prepared voting machines and completed the extensive preparations required before Election Day.

The Secretary toured the parish’s election warehouse to inspect voting machines for Saturday’s election and thanked the dedicated employees responsible for ensuring Lincoln Parish voters can cast their ballots securely and efficiently.

“Preparing for an election takes weeks of work. Voting machines have to be programmed and tested, poll commissioners trained, and countless details handled before voters ever walk into a polling place,” said Secretary Landry. “I want to thank Linda Cook, Sharon Parnell and their entire staffs for their professionalism and dedication to Lincoln Parish voters.”

Louisiana is currently ranked fourth in the nation for election integrity, thanks in large part to the work of parish Clerks of Court, Registrars of Voters, poll commissioners, and election workers across Louisiana.

Secretary Landry encouraged eligible voters to make a plan to vote in Saturday’s election and reminded voters to review their sample ballot before heading to the polls.

Voters can view their sample ballot, verify their registration and find their polling location by visiting GeauxVote.com or using the GeauxVote Mobile app.

The election is this Saturday, June 27. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
