A woman was arrested last Thursday after an officer stopped her while she was walking on Martin Luther King Drive, according to a Ruston Police report.
Andrecia Detasharae Mays, 36, of Ruston, was arrested June 26 for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as two warrants for failure to appear in Ruston City Court and two Louisiana Tech Police warrants for simple burglary.
According to the report, an officer saw Mays walking near Martin Luther King Drive and Johnson Street and stopped to make contact because she was walking too close to the roadway.
During the encounter, Mays identified herself, and dispatch confirmed she had active warrants through the Ruston Police Department and Louisiana Tech.
A search after her arrest resulted in discovery of a clear plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The report states officers also found a glass pipe with burnt residue from smoking methamphetamine.
Mays was advised of her rights, transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, and booked on the listed charges.
