Head coach Lane Burroughs and Louisiana Tech baseball announced the official signings of left-handed pitcher Brooks Willoughby, infielder Nicholas Frontino and infielder Keegan Giger.

Willoughby, a 6-foot-5 native of Vicksburg, Mississippi, joins the Diamond ‘Dogs after spending two years as a relief pitcher at Southern Miss. He went 3-0 in 17 appearances as a true freshman in 2025, recording one save and posting a 5.03 ERA. He struck out 22 batters in 19 2/3 innings and held opponents to a .224 batting average.

The Palm Beach, Florida-born southpaw helped the Golden Eagles win the Sun Belt Conference championship in 2025 as Southern Miss remained a consistent Top 25 team during his two-year tenure.

Frontino joins the Bulldogs for the 2027 season after redshirting as a true freshman at Mississippi State. Standing 6-foot-3, he prepped at St. John Neumann Catholic High School in Naples, Florida, where he earned first-team all-area honors as a junior and senior. He hit .280 as a senior with two doubles, four home runs, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored after batting .305 as a junior with four extra-base hits, 18 RBIs, 10 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

The Chardon, Ohio-born middle infielder was rated the No. 14 shortstop in Florida by Perfect Game and was named to Southwest Florida’s Starting 9 by The News-Press/Naples Daily News.

Giger transfers to Louisiana Tech from Nicholls, where he started all 50 games he played. He hit .297 with 31 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, six home runs and 40 RBIs while leading the team with 11 stolen bases in 15 attempts. The Petal, Mississippi, native recorded the team’s second-most multi-hit games (18) and the third-longest reached-base streak at 16 games.

He tied for the team lead with four hits in a game on two occasions. Giger went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles in the series opener against Stephen F. Austin on April 17 before going 4 for 6 with a double and a home run in the series finale against New Orleans on May 3.
