Man arrested on warrant after reported standoff

A man was arrested last week after officers served a warrant at a Ruston residence following a brief standoff.

Jonathan Webb, 41, of Ruston, was arrested July 14 by Ruston Police after responding to an unwanted guest complaint.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers learned Webb was wanted on a RPD warrant for domestic abuse battery by strangulation.

Officers attempted to get Webb to surrender and come outside after they learned there was a firearm inside.

After 23 minutes of using a public address system to coax Webb outside, he surrendered and was taken into custody.

Webb was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and resisting an officer.
