Remembering Gordon Russell Brazzel

Graveside service for Gordon Russell Brazzel, age 80 of Dubach, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in Corinth Cemetery near Dubach, LA with Bro. Scott Jennings officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Gordon was born on February 18, 1946 in Minden, LA to Gordon and Sybil Roberts Brazzel and he passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 in Monroe, LA.  After graduating high school, Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict, where he demonstrated honor, dedication, and commitment. Following his military service, Gordon built a successful career as an auto mechanic, earning respect of those who knew him through his strong work ethic and dependable nature.

Outside of work, Gordon preferred a quiet and simple life. He was content spending time on his own and found peace in the outdoors, especially while hunting. He appreciated the solitude of nature and valued the calm that came with it, enjoying the stillness more than the noise of the world. While he may have been quiet, he was steady, dependable, and true to himself.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Brazzel; and brothers, Henry Brazzel and Frankie “Pop” Brazzel. He is survived by his sisters, Linda and husband Ron Gray, Cathy and husband Charlie Edwards, and Connie and husband Tony Reeves; brother, Roger Brazzel and wife Cheryl; son, Michael Copeland; many nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Owens Memorial Chapel.
