The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped custody in Downsville on Friday.
According to officials, Brook McKenzie Simpson, a white male who was last seen wearing blue jeans and an orange shirt, walked away from a work release site on Prentice Pardue Rd in Downsville.
Simpson is 36 and is described as 5’10” tall, weighing 155. He is clean shaven and his hair was pulled back into a ponytail.
Simpson is known to frequent the Downsville as he is from there. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Residents in the area are urged to remain alert, secure their homes and vehicles, and avoid approaching Simpson if he is spotted.
