A Ruston man was arrested last week after officers responding to a welfare concern found a woman with scratch marks on her chest.
Cade Worley, 25, of Ruston, was arrested at 9:51 p.m. July 29 by the Ruston Police Department and booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
Based on the affidavit, an officer went to a Haskell Avenue residence in reference to a welfare concern and made contact with Worley outside the home. Worley was emotional and appeared intoxicated, the officer wrote, and he told the officer his girlfriend was inside.
The officer then made contact with the woman, who was inside the residence and was crying. The officer reported observing what appeared to be three scratch marks at the base of her neck.
The woman told the officer she and Worley had argued before officers arrived and that the argument started when Worley learned she had gone through his phone. She said Worley damaged property inside the residence during the argument, specifically in the living room and a bedroom, and she said it was not the first time he had battered her. She also said Worley became aggressive when he had been drinking.
After being advised of his rights, Worley admitted he had been drinking prior to the incident and had smoked medical-grade marijuana, the officer wrote. Worley also said the woman had battered him during the incident, but the officer reported observing no signs of battery.
Worley is charged with one count of domestic abuse battery.
