The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce will launch its new Coffee and Commerce series on Tuesday, Aug. 11, with a morning of coffee, networking and community conversation.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Historic Fire Station in downtown Ruston and is open to the public. Chamber Executive Vice President Bevin Hicks said the quarterly series was created by the Chamber Champions as a way to bring the community together.
“This is a program that was started by our Chamber Champions, and it’s really just they wanted a way for the community to come together and just network and talk,” Hicks said.
Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker will participate in each Coffee and Commerce event. The inaugural program will also feature Russ Award recipient Jay Guillot and Young Business Leader of the Year Rob Owens, who were honored during the Chamber’s annual awards banquet in February.
Coffee for the first event will be provided by Scooter’s Coffee.
“It’s just a way to kind of network and ask questions about what’s going on and get answers from some of the folks that have the answers,” Hicks said.
The event is expected to last about an hour.
