Lincoln Parish residents will have an opportunity this weekend to help provide food for families in need by donating nonperishable food items during the annual Hunters for the Hungry food drive.
The local collection event will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Dubach Deer Factory & Smokehouse, 599 U.S. Highway 167 in Dubach.
All food collected at the Lincoln Parish drop-off site will be donated to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, which will distribute the donations through its network of local partner agencies serving families throughout the region.
Organizers encourage residents to bring canned goods and other nonperishable food items to help stock food pantries as demand continues throughout the year.
The Hunters for the Hungry program partners with local businesses and volunteers across Louisiana to collect food donations that help fight hunger in communities throughout the state.
For those unable to attend the Dubach collection event, additional donation sites are available across Louisiana. However, Lincoln Parish residents are encouraged to support the local drop-off to directly benefit the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana and the families it serves.
