A West Monroe man was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center last week after deputies reported he ran a red light in Ruston and then drove nearly two miles without stopping for their lights and sirens, according to an affidavit.
Jaden Mycah Causey-Williams, 26, was arrested at 12:49 p.m. Aug. 19 at Morgan Street and Highway 33. He is charged with disobeying a traffic signal, flight from an officer and resisting an officer by force or violence.
Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were on regular patrol at 12:37 p.m. when they saw a gray Honda Pilot disobey a red signal at North Vienna Street and North Service Road East. Deputies moved in behind the vehicle and turned on their overhead emergency lights.
The Pilot turned south on North Trenton and then headed east on South Service Road, passing what deputies described as numerous safe places to pull over. Deputies activated their sirens, but the vehicle continued east to Highway 33, turned south and finally stopped at Morgan Street — roughly 1.7 miles from where the stop began.
Causey-Williams told deputies he had not been stopped before and was unaware they were trying to pull him over. As additional deputies arrived, he tried to get back inside the vehicle and was told by a uniformed deputy that he could not. He became upset and began yelling at the deputy.
Because of his posture and demeanor, deputies told Causey-Williams to put his hands behind his back. He pulled away by curling his hands inward toward his body and continued to pull away after deputies ordered him to stop resisting. He was placed in mechanical restraints and taken to a patrol unit, then transported to the sheriff’s office and on to the detention center for booking.

Persons named or shown in photographs or video as suspects in a criminal investigation, or arrested and charged with a crime, have not been convicted of any criminal offense and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
