Louisiana Tech women’s tennis will compete in seven events during the fall as the Bulldogs prepare for their first season as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
The fall slate begins Sept. 19-27 with the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, followed by the Rice Fall Invitational on Sept. 25-27 in Houston.
The Bulldogs will compete in the ITA Regionals on Oct. 8-12 in Baton Rouge before traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, for TCU’s Jae Foundation Battle for the Boot on Oct. 22-25.
LA Tech’s lone home event of the fall will be the Bulldog Invitational on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the LA Tech Tennis Complex. The Bulldogs will welcome UL Lafayette, Northwestern State and Abilene Christian to Ruston.
The fall concludes with the ITA Conference Masters on Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Georgia, and the NCAA Individual Championships on Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Georgia.
The Bulldogs enter their fourth season under head coach Amy Sargeant after a record-setting 2025-26 campaign.
LA Tech finished 17-4 last season, setting a program record with an .810 winning percentage while earning the No. 1 seed in the Conference USA Championship for the first time. The Bulldogs also went 5-0 at home, won nine consecutive matches during the spring and climbed as high as No. 64 in the ITA national rankings, tying the highest ranking in program history.
Sargeant will have a significantly retooled roster this season with only two returners joined by four transfers and two freshmen.
“We’re incredibly excited for the upcoming season and especially proud to welcome six newcomers to the program,” Sargeant said. “This season will be a challenge — testing their skills, creating opportunities, and giving each player the environment and support they need to grow, compete, and be successful.”
Maria Tsironi and Nina Skoric are the Bulldogs’ two returners.
Tsironi went 10-6 in singles dual matches last season and earned second-team All-Conference USA honors in doubles. Skoric enters her third season at LA Tech after earning second-team All-CUSA doubles honors in 2025.
The four transfers are Manal Ennaciri from South Alabama, Natalia Trigosso from Nebraska, Emma Cohen from Mississippi State and Lucia Gallegos from Louisville.
Ennaciri has been ranked as high as No. 41 nationally and has 71 combined collegiate singles and doubles victories. Trigosso has represented Bolivia in the Billie Jean King Cup, while Gallegos has represented Costa Rica in the Billie Jean King Cup and Central American and Caribbean Games.
Cohen recorded 40 combined singles and doubles victories during two seasons at Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs also added freshmen Alexandra “Lexie” Patton of Coppell, Texas, and Carolina Correia of Braga, Portugal.
Patton won the U16 Texas State Slam singles championship and has been ranked among the top 50 nationally, while Correia brings international experience from Clube Tenis de Braga in Portugal.
Sargeant, the 2025 Conference USA Coach of the Year, enters her fourth season at LA Tech and is under contract through 2028.
