A Ruston man was booked on drug and resisting counts Wednesday morning after the Lincoln Parish Special Response Team and narcotics agents served a search warrant at his South Trenton Street home, according to an affidavit.
Antonio D. Watts, 49, was arrested at 6 a.m. Sept. 9 on five counts, including distribution of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance and a violation of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law within a drug-free zone. Bond was set at $40,000 on the distribution count and $30,000 on the drug-free zone count.
The Special Response Team and agents with the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team executed the warrant in support of an investigation into narcotics trafficking activity by Watts.
As the warrant was being served, Watts made contact with law enforcement on Olive Street. He actively resisted arrest and detention, and it took numerous officers to detain, restrain and secure him in a marked Ruston Police Department unit.
During the search of the residence, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in Watts’ bedroom.
Watts was arrested on the evidence recovered in the search and on outstanding warrants held by the narcotics team and issued by the 3rd Judicial District Court for Lincoln Parish.
He was also booked on possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer with force or violence.
