Louisiana Tech will face its second straight road test against a Power Four opponent when the Bulldogs travel to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor on Saturday at McLane Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on ESPNU.
Louisiana Tech (1-1) and Baylor (1-1) will meet for the first time in 30 years and for the seventh time overall. The Bears lead the all-time series 5-1, including a 3-1 advantage in games played in Waco.
Saturday will mark the Bulldogs’ first appearance at McLane Stadium, which opened in 2014.
The last meeting between the programs came in 1996 in Shreveport, with Baylor earning the victory. The Bears also won the previous meeting in Waco in 1994.
Louisiana Tech’s lone victory in the series came Sept. 5, 1992, when Chris Boniol connected on a 30-yard field goal as time expired to give the Bulldogs a 10-9 win at Baylor’s Floyd Casey Stadium.
Saturday’s game will also be Tech’s first against a Big 12 opponent since the Bulldogs opened the 2019 season at No. 10 Texas. The Longhorns defeated Tech 45-14 in Austin.
The Bulldogs are seeking their first victory over a Big 12 opponent since defeating Oklahoma State 39-36 in Shreveport in 2002.
Tech’s most recent victory over a Power Four opponent came in the 2019 Independence Bowl, when the Bulldogs shut out Miami 14-0 in Shreveport.
