Heath Humble, a candidate for Chief of Police for the Town of Dubach, is running on a resume that spans nearly three decades of law enforcement at the local, state, and federal level. Humble has extensive experience in recruiting new hires, leading people, managing budgets, and supervising officers.
A resident of Dubach since 2015, Humble is a retired Air Force with 29 years of law enforcement experience and a college degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently POST-certified.
His career includes assignments that required a Top Secret/SCI clearance and service across multiple agencies:
• U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations — Served as Special Agent-in-Charge and Superintendent
• Federal Service — Sworn as a Deputy U.S. Marshal and FBI Task Force Officer.
• State and Local Officer — Supervisory Criminal Investigator with the Louisiana Office of Inspector General (OIG) and commissioned by the Louisiana State Police. Earlier in his career, he served as a police officer with the Minden Police Department.
Humble retired in March from the Louisiana OIG, where he served as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator and FBI Task Force Officer. During his tenure with the OIG, Humble worked complex financial investigations which resulted in multiple federal indictments and convictions of fraudsters who stole millions of taxpayer money from government programs. During the past five years, Humble had been assigned to the FBI’s Public Corruption Task Force.
Throughout his career, Humble has handled thousands of complaints, incidents, and investigations—making many arrests involving homicides, narcotics, theft, fraud, and violent crime. He’s also trained new police officers who were fresh out of the police academy.

“I grew up in a small town (Wisner, LA) where everyone knows everyone and friends are like family,” Humble said. “That small-town friendly service is what I plan to bring to the department — knowing the residents, being available, responsive, and professional.”
Humble says if elected, he would bring full-time availability for citizen complaints, strong leadership and management to the department, a focus on recruiting exceptional and trusted officers, and experience in managing sensitive, high-stress situations using de-escalation and compassion. He also plans to attend Town Council meetings on a regular basis to brief the council on police matters and hear comments and concerns from the public.
“I want to hear what is important to the people,” said Humble.
Humble noted his law enforcement experience covers every level — local, state, and federal — which he says is especially important as Dubach navigates new ordinances allowing drinking establishments and bars in town.
Humble says, “I will be ready Day One!”
He is not accepting monetary donations for his campaign.
