A search warrant served at a Grambling State University dormitory led to a Shreveport man’s arrest on a marijuana distribution charge Thursday, according to an arrest affidavit.
Delarrious Trevon Marshall Jr., 20, of Shreveport, was arrested by Grambling State police at 11 a.m. Oct. 1 at Holland Hall.
Investigators had obtained Instagram messages involving Marshall in which quantities and prices of marijuana were discussed, including offers of 3.5 grams for $20 and 7 grams for $35.
Officers searched the room assigned to Marshall and found 52 grams of suspected marijuana. Thirty-one grams were divided among eight clear plastic baggies, and a separate baggie held 21 grams.
Marshall was taken to the university police department, where he was read his Miranda rights. He declined to make a statement.
Based on the amount of marijuana, the way it was packaged and the Instagram messages, investigators believed Marshall intended to distribute it.
Marshall was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and violation of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law in a drug-free zone.
