Choudrant Trunk or Treat & Movie Night at Village Park

The Village of Choudrant is planning a full evening of family-friendly Halloween fun on Friday, Oct. 9, with Trunk or Treat and Movie Night taking place back-to-back at Village Park, 3911 Elm Street.

Signs will be posted to direct visitors to the parking area in the open lot across from Village Hall and on the south side of Origin Bank. Both events are free and open to the public.

From 5 to 7 p.m., families can bring their little ghosts, goblins, superheroes and an assortment of other festive creatures for Trunk or Treat. Children should bring their own buckets for collecting candy, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Along with decorated trunks and plenty of sweet loot, there will be free popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy and face painting during the first half of the night. Toms Coffee Truck will also be on site with beverages available for purchase.

Those who would like to join the fun by decorating a trunk should register in advance by emailing neelie@choudrant.org. Registration is free.

At 7 p.m., families can pull out their blankets and folding chairs to settle in for Movie Night, featuring the Disney old-school favorite, Halloweentown.

During Movie Night, concessions will be on sale to support local fundraisers. Aggie Nation Baseball will be selling snow cones and dinner plates, Choudrant Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will be selling cotton candy, and the Choudrant Volunteer Fire Department will be selling popcorn. And for those worn-out parents, Toms Coffee Truck will still be on site with coffee available for purchase.

The Village of Choudrant thanks the Choudrant High School cheerleaders, FFA and Beta Club members, along with the Choudrant Elementary PTO, for volunteering to help with the event.

If the weather decides to play a trick of its own, the events will be canceled rather than moved indoors. Residents are encouraged to follow the Village of Choudrant Facebook page for event updates.
