A Ruston man was arrested Tuesday night after police responded to a report of an ongoing domestic incident.
Cade Worley, 25, of Ruston, was arrested at 10:23 p.m. Oct. 20 by the Ruston Police Department.
According to an arrest affidavit, an officer was dispatched to a Haskell Drive residence and was met on the street by a man matching the description given by dispatch. The man said he was only out walking his dogs.
Responding officers went to the residence to speak with the victim. She said the man began attacking her because he thought she was texting an ex-boyfriend. She said he struck her repeatedly with a closed fist, punching her in the eye and causing a laceration under her right eye. She said he also punched her in the mouth, leaving her with a busted lip.
The victim said he pulled her hair and pushed her onto the floor. She also said he took her phone from her hand and threw it at her television, shattering the screen.
While dispatch ran the man’s name, officers were notified that an active protective order was in place against him. He was patted down, advised of his rights and told officers he understood them. He was then placed in handcuffs and taken to Lincoln Parish Detention Center, where he was booked.
Worley was booked on charges of domestic abuse battery, simple criminal damage to property and violation of a protective order.
