Dubach Mayor Mona Wilson received 42% of the vote in Tuesday’s election against two challengers, according to complete but unofficial returns.

Incumbent Wilson and Corey Beckham, both Republicans, will face off Dec. 12 in a runoff election.

Wilson received 121 votes to Beckham’s 93. Kimberly Gill, who listed no party affiliation, received 72 votes.

Only 51.3% of Dubach’s registered voters participated in the election.

Wilson is on medical leave according to a town hall official and could not be reached for comment.

In a social media post, Gill said, “Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I have to say this was the hardest thing I’ve personally ever done. I did meet some really nice folks along the way.”

Beckham initially thought he had lost to Wilson until told there was a runoff since no one received 50% of the vote.

“I’m not sure about a runoff, I guess we will see,” Beckham said in a social media post. “I’m definitely not going to withdraw. Looks like we get to do it again in December.”

Dubach Police Chief Don Dofour was elected to another term with 63% of the votes cast. Challenger Heath Humble, a former Minden police officer and state investigator, collected 107 votes to Dufour’s 179.

Only one council seat was contested in Dubach. Ruby Dawson and Etan Gipson were vying to replace Mary Billberry in District A who did not run for re-election.  Gipson bested Dawson 65 to 39.

Four other council seats will be filled by unopposed candidates–Kyle Hennigan (District B), Richard Stevens (District C), and incumbents Evelyn Graham (District D) and Monique Roberts (District E).
