Dry Prong woman arrested on second DUI charge

A Dry Prong woman was arrested early Sunday after a traffic stop in Ruston.

McKayla Danzy, 21, of Dry Prong, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. Nov. 1 by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office at Tech Drive and Alabama Avenue.

According to an arrest affidavit, a deputy stopped her vehicle after seeing it travel south on Tech Drive and accelerate at a high rate of speed, causing it to drift into the left lane of the multi-lane roadway. The road was wet.

A second deputy who arrived to assist asked Danzy whether she had been drinking, and she said she’d had one beer. She agreed to field sobriety tests and performed poorly. After she was advised of her rights, she said she had actually had two mixed drinks and two shots.

Danzy was handcuffed and taken to Lincoln Parish Detention Center. She was observed for 15 minutes and given the opportunity to take a breath test on an Intoxilyzer 9000. She agreed and her result was 0.234 percent.

A records check showed she was arrested in July 2026 on a first-offense DUI charge.

Danzy was booked on charges of DUI, second offense, and improper lane usage.
