Lincoln Prep to hold Math Fun Day

Lincoln Preparatory School is inviting families and community members to a “Math Fun Day” carnival on Tuesday, April 22 from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm, to enjoy an evening of free and educational fun. The event will feature math games, entertainment, refreshments and plenty of fun for the whole family.

The carnival will be part of the “Spring into Success: Building Stronger Math Foundations Together” initiative, hosted by Lincoln Prep to combine education and entertainment to students and their families. Outside of just math activities and games, the carnival will serve as an opportunity for members of the Lincoln Prep family and the local community to become acquainted. As a Lincoln Parish school, Lincoln Prep puts emphasis on engaging with the community and building relationships within the area. The school also makes it a priority to involve parents and families in their children’s education.

PTO President LaVonda Walker shared the inspiration behind the event and highlighted the school’s efforts to connect with the community.

“We prioritize communicating to parents about our Math and ELA curriculum,” Walker said. “What we are also trying to do, is develop a good relationship with the community. Together we are strong, and we want others to know that we are all about progress. We would love to just get the local community more involved.”

The carnival will feature math games and activities for different ages, water slides, bounce houses, food and refreshments, as well as live entertainment. There will even be some surprise giveaways throughout the night. Students are encouraged to invite friends and family members to enjoy the carnival.

Acting CEO Dr. Crystal Washington, described how the event will benefit students and families.

“The Spring Title 1 Math Carnival is a fantastic way to bring learning to life for our students and families,” Washington said. “Through games, hands-on activities and a whole lot of fun, we will show that math is not only essential—it’s exciting.”

Lincoln Preparatory School, located in Grambling, serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade and is dedicated to providing academic excellence, student growth and community involvement. The school strives to provide a high-quality, supportive learning environment while promoting strong partnerships with parents and the community.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Math Fun Day carnival, whether you’re from Lincoln Prep, a student from another school, or just a community member looking for a fun and educational evening. No registration is required, and all activities are free of charge. Come see what Lincoln Prep is all about.
