Remembering Rosemary Stewart

Rosemary Stewart gained her eternal reward on May 18, 2026, a day before her birthday. Born on May 19, 1959, to RC and Rosa Sparks, Rosemary lived a life full of service and dedication. She earned a two-year secretarial science degree from Southern Arkansas University and worked for the Social Security department for ten years.

As the pastor’s wife of Dubach United Pentecostal Church, alongside her husband Rev.  Doug Stewart, she served for 18 years, leading music, singing, and playing the organ. Her creativity shone through her sewing and painting of landmarks and landscapes.

After retiring from Dubach UPC, she and Reverend Stewart facilitated a merger with LifePoint Pentecostal Church in Ruston, continuing their ministry and love for the community. Rosemary was a beloved praying mother of the church, whose presence will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend Douglas Stewart of Dubach, LA, her brother Arlen Sparks of Houston, TX, and her sister-in-law, Darlene Sparks of Dubach, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Cecil ‘RC’ Sparks and Rosa Wade-Sparks, and her brother Elwyn Sparks.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at LifePoint Pentecostal Church in Ruston, LA at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026, officiated by Pastor Thomas Ussery. Honorary pallbearers include Ryan Taylor, Boyd Gibson, Martin Gilbert, Jeremy Lamkin, Ralph Bruce, and Buddy Wells.

The family extends their gratitude to the amazing staff of St Francis’ ER, Floor 6, and Floor 7 care teams in Monroe for their exceptional care of Rosemary in her final days.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
