Dubach’s Independence Day and America 250 celebration will get another chance after rain washed out much of the town’s July 4 event.

The third annual Celebrate Dubach Day was scheduled to include activities throughout the day, ending with food trucks, live music and fireworks.

Rain interfered with much of the celebration, including the fireworks display.

Dubach Mayor Mona Wilson said, “The band had issues due to the rain, and the rain caused problems setting up the fireworks. To avoid ruining a lot of fireworks, we made a call. I know it is disappointing for everyone, but it was the best decision we could make.”

The town will announce a new celebration date later. The rescheduled celebration will give residents another opportunity to gather after the weather disrupted the July 4 plans.

The original schedule called for a family field day at the ballpark with games and water slides, along with arts and crafts vendors at the community center, followed by food, music and fireworks to cap off the evening.

The event is among several community activities and improvement efforts Dubach has undertaken in recent years.

Mayor Mona Wilson said the town has worked with the Dubach Legends organization on projects to improve the community. The town has also upgraded its playground, added a boat ramp in the James Lake area, and assisted with renovations to the ballpark and amphitheater.

“We work hand in hand with the Dubach Legends group to better improve Dubach,” Wilson said.
