Ruston Police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old Ruston youth who was reportedly shot just after midnight Tuesday morning.
The male teen suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was rushed to Northern Louisiana Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Sources told the Lincoln Parish Journal the victim was believed to be a Ruston High student. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
Police reported the shooting occurred near Winona Drive and Tennessee Avenue just west of U.S. 167 in south Ruston. No other details have been released and no arrests had been made as of Wednesday evening.
