Warrant arrest leads to other charges

A man was arrested by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and Dubach Police on a variety of charges Friday night.

Joshua Blake Stanley, 29, of Dubach, was arrested on a warrant for theft less than $1,000 as he sat in his parked car Friday evening. The warrant was related to an incident that occurred in Dubach.

Stanley stated there were no weapons or drugs in his vehicle but an “open air sniff” around the car by a LPSO K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics. A search yield a bag of suspected marijuana inside the driver’s door pocket and a bag of suspected methamphetamine in a cigarette box on the center console.  Stanley claimed both the marijuana and the methamphetamine.

A records check showed the vehicle was not registered and was not covered by liability insurance.

Stanley was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, failure to register a vehicle, and the theft warrant.
