Prize money on the line for Hogapalooza

by Josh McDaniel

Hunters will soon be living high on the hog while giving back to a great cause of Hunters for the Hungry.

The inaugural Hogapalooza tournament is underway, and a grand total of $6500 worth of prize money will be paid out to the winners. Teams of four hunters can drop any feral hogs hunted legally according to the state of Louisiana laws.

The team which has the highest total weight of feral hogs dropped off at Dubach Deer Factory & Smokehouse, L.L.C. and donated until May 31 wins the contest and will be paid the total sum of $5000 in prize money. The three individuals who bring in the heaviest three feral hogs will each win $500.00.

“This is win-win-win for everyone involved,” said Dubach Deer Factory & Smokehouse, L.L.C. Owner Amy Green. “Our state and farmers benefit from feral hogs being removed, local families will get their freezers full of meat, and some lucky hunters will g/et the cash!”

The event began April 1 and runs through May 31.
