Amanda Stone, tennis head coach at Louisiana Tech for the past seven seasons, has accepted the head coaching position at the University of North Texas.

Stone leaves Ruston as the all-time winning coach in program history, having compiled an overall record of 86-69. She was recently named Conference USA and Wilson/ITA Southern Region Coach of the Year after guiding LA Tech to a 20-6 season as well as its highest ever national ranking at 64th in the country.

“I want to thank Amanda for the job she has done in elevating our tennis program over the past seven years,” said Director of Athletics/Vice President Dr. Eric A. Wood. “She brought stability and a competitive edge to a program that achieved accomplishments never done before on and off the court. We are excited about the current trajectory of LA Tech Tennis and look forward to finding the right individual to continue the momentum of the program.”

A national search for the next Lady Techster Tennis head coach is underway with no definitive timeline.
