By Kyle Roberts

Make it seven in a row for the Ruston High Bearcats (10-7) after an 79-45 drumming of Northwood-Shreveport on the road.

And the Bearcats are finding their groove at the right time with only a few days to go before District 2-5A play begin.

“Overall, it was a good effort,” Ruston High head coach Ryan Bond said. “We still have to clean up some deficiencies. With the schedule we have coming up, we have to be sharper. The great thing is we have guys that want to get better.”

Ruston amassed a 21-9 lead after the first quarter before its 40-21 lead at halftime.

Freshman Ahmad Hudson again led Ruston in scoring with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting on the night. Senior Lonnie Dimmer added 18 points after hitting three three-pointers and going 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

Junior Aidan Anding added 14 points with three assists, while senior Zhy Scott notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bearcat defense turned Northwood-Shreveport over 21 times on the night, which turned into 17 points.

Ruston returns to action on the road at Calvary Baptist on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
