
Holiday week marred by DWI arrests
Lincoln Parish law enforcement was kept busy by domestic violence calls and suspected impaired drivers during the week between 2024’s final holidays.
Domestic charges and DWI accounted for a third of the 35 arrests by authorities between Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. The week also saw four arrests in connection with a December 26 homicide.
The DWI arrests included:
Bernabe Chimalhua Sanchez, 36, of El Dorado, Arkansas was arrested early Christmas morning for first offense DWI, no tail lights, running a red light, and no driver’s license. Sanchez was stopped by a Ruston police officer who observed the violations at about 2:00 a.m.
The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jae Anthone Hill, 28, of Farmerville, for second offense DWI about 4:00 a.m. on December 28. Hill was also charged with no vehicle registration, illegal window tint, no driver’s license, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance, switched/fictitious license plate, and possession of ecstasy. Hill is also being held for the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office on two warrants for traffic charges. His bail was set at $87,500.

Eli Charles May, 18, was arrested by Louisiana State Police at about 2:30 a.m. on December 28. He was booked for underage DWI with bail set at $1,500.
State Police also arrested Jorge L. Ramirez, 32, of West Monroe, after he was stopped traveling the wrong way on Ruston’s one-way Vienna Street. Ramirez had no U. S. identification and was charged with first offense DWI, wrong way on a one way street, and no driver’s license. His bail was set at $1,500.
Ruston Police charged Jade Milan Johnson, 23, with first offense DWI and possession of marijuana about 7:30 a.m. December 29. Johnson’s bail was set at $1,500.
Lincoln Parish deputies arrested Kendrick Javon Armstrong, 35, of Ruston, about 2:30 a.m. on December 29. Armstrong was stopped after a deputy observed his vehicle weaving across the roadway on U. S. 80 near Tech Farm Road. A breath test showed Armstrong’s blood alcohol content to be .096g%. Armstrong was booked for first offense DWI, possession of marijuana, improper lane usage, open container, and two warrants for failure to appear in court for improper headlights and tail lights.
Fredy Sanchez-Paz, 32, of Honduras, was stopped on Interstate 20 by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office late on December 29 after deputies responded to numerous calls reporting a reckless driver. With the assistance of a Spanish interpreter, Paz was administered a breath test indicating his blood alcohol concentration was .193g%, over twice Louisiana’s legal limit. He was booked for first offense DWI, careless operation, no driver’s license, open container, and obstruction of a highway.
Willie T. Williams, 59, was arrested by a state trooper about 12:07 a.m. on December 31, He was booked for second offense DWI, driving under suspension, open container, and resisting an officer. His bail was set at $8,500.
