A Ruston man was arrested Monday for attempted murder after Ruston Police investigated a shooting earlier that morning.
Sarnell Baldwin, 28, of Ruston, was spotted by Ruston Police Officer D. Smith about 8:50 a.m. on Eastland Avenue in a vehicle matching that of the shooter in an earlier domestic incident. Officers stopped the car on Bernard Street and arrested Baldwin without incident. The victim had named Baldwin as her assailant.
Baldwin has been charged with attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and battery of a dating partner. Bail had not been set as of Tuesday evening.
While shell casings and bullet fragments were collected from the scene of the shooting, the firearm Baldwin is alleged to have used has not been recovered.
