Parish Police Jury Meeting, Sept. 14

The Lincoln Parish Police Jury had its scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Among the items discussed was the application for $750,000 from the Love Louisiana Outdoors program, which was mentioned in the last Police Jury meeting. Parish Administrator Doug Postel and Laura Hartt discovered discrepancies in the written application that the State of Louisiana provided to local governments.

Postel assured the jury that in all likelihood the Parish will still get the funds. But because the Police Jury is dealing with the federal government, he just wants to make sure all tracks are covered. “The application here is not the problem. It’s the compliance that’s going to be the issue,” Postel said. “We just want to make sure all the I’s are dotted and all the T’s are crossed.”

Postel then recommended that the Police Jury engage Frye Magee, LLC, since the company is familiar with the grant application process. A motion was then unanimously passed to select Frye Magee as the Police Jury’s consultant in applying for the Love Louisiana Outdoors funds.
