Intruder arrested in Simsboro

A call from a Simsboro woman Monday night led to the arrest of a neighbor for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

Lincoln Parish deputies responded to a mobile home park on Martha Street in Simsboro about 10 p.m. Monday after a woman said a man entered her home while she was sleeping.

The woman said a young man had been knocking on her door periodically throughout the day. That evening the woman awoke to find the man in her bathroom partially undressed. When she went to retrieve a gun, the man left quickly.

Based on a clothing description and the assistance of a neighbor, Deputy S. Carr located Christian Gonzales, 18, also of Martha Street. His clothing matched the victim’s description and through a translator, Gonzales admitted being in the woman’s house.

Gonzales appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. Bail was set at $40,000.
