Grambling hosts ‘A Candy Cane Christmas’

The Grambling Economic Development Corporation and the city of Grambling will host ‘A Candy Cane Christmas’ event from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at Legends Square.

Featured activities include an Angel Tree, Sweets ‘N Treats mixer, and a Color Me Christmas contest.

Residents will be able to volunteer to purchase gifts for children whose names and gift wishes are on the Angel Tree. Parents provided the names of children and gift requests to the GEDC last week.

The Sweets ‘N Treats mixer will include caroling, games, refreshments and gifts distribution for children, parents and residents.

Lastly, the Color Me Christmas contest allows children from ages 1 to 12 to color a picture provided by the GEDC office. Winners will be selected from three age groups: 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Parents must pick up pictures from the GEDC office from 1-5 p.m. today and must be returned to the GEDC office by 5 p.m. today.

Current partners for this event include Spring Market, City of Grambling Joy Fund Committee, Grambling Chapter of the Grambling University National Alumni Association, Community Coordinating Council, Concerned Citizens of Grambling, and the Grambling Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
