A Ruston man was arrested early Monday morning after Ruston Police responded to a report of an ongoing domestic situation.
At about 1 a.m., RPD Officer G. Warren responded to a McDonald Ave apartment regarding to investigate. The victim told the officer she came home to find her boyfriend of three years, Justin Goldsmith, in her apartment. The victim said Goldsmith did not live there and apparently entered through a window.
The victim tried to take Goldsmith to his parent’s house, but they did not answer the door. Goldsmith and the victim returned to her apartment where they were involved in an altercation. The victim said Goldsmith punched her in the face with a fist. Officer Warren noticed swelling on the victim’s cheek.
Goldsmith, 28, of Ruston, was arrested for unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling and battery of a dating partner and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
Bail had not been set as of Monday evening.
