Grambling State University equipment manager George Stubbs was selected on Monday to provide support in the equipment area during the HBCU Combine and Senior Bowl Jan. 27-Feb. 6.
“Any time you can represent Grambling State University and Chuck Dawn and his legacy, it is always an honor,” Stubbs, who has also been invited to participate in the HBCU Legacy Bowl, said.
The opportunity will allow Stubbs to network and work with NFL personnel and coaches.
“We are incredibly proud of George for this unique opportunity! He continues to represent Grambling State Athletics tremendously,” Grambling State Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, Dr. Trayvean Scott, said.
The annual HBCU Combine is a performance platform specifically for draft eligible HBCU football players to showcase their athletic ability and position skillset in front of NFL and CFL scouts. The Senior Bowl will be played on Saturday, Feb. 5 at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of the University of South Alabama.
The National Football League (NFL) will cover the cost of roundtrip air travel and hotel lodging for the event.
