False identification takes male to LPDC

In the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 29, a state trooper observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt at the intersection of LA 150 and US 167.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop near Minden Street and contacted the driver, who said his name was “Zory” Bridges and said he was born in 1987.

Bridges stated his driver’s license was out of New York. The trooper attempted to locate Bridges’ driver’s license and was unsuccessful. Bridges assured the trooper of his name, but neither the trooper nor dispatch was able to locate his identification.

The trooper then contacted the Fusion Center in Baton Rouge to locate information on the suspect. The Fusion Center was also unable to locate Bridges’ identification. Bridges was then placed under arrest and transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center to determine his identification.

Once at the detention center, Bridges said, “Ya’ll are going to find out my name anyway. My name is Ruben Bridges.” He also gave officers his correct birth date, which had a year of 1982. Bridges said he feared he had a warrant for his arrest, and that was why he was not truthful about his name.

Bridges was booked on driving under suspension and resisting an officer with false information.
