Report of trespasser at GSU leads to arrests

A report of a trespasser on the Grambling State University campus Friday led to the arrest of two individuals on a variety of charges.Grambling State police officers were advised Friday evening that a trespasser had just left the campus. The individual, identified as Collin J. Smith, 18, of Hagerstown, Maryland, then reportedly threatened individuals off campus with a firearm.Grambling city police responded to a complaint of an aggravated assault at the University Place Apartments. The victim stated Kimani Williams, 18, of Compton, California, removed a handgun from a backpack and gave it to Smith who waved it around and told the victim to “get out of here.“Smith had previously been barred from the GSU campus. After the investigation by GSU Police and Grambling PD, Smith was arrested for aggravated assault and criminal trespassing. Williams was charged with accessory after the fact.   Both are booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
