Louisiana Tech left little doubt Saturday when the Lady Techsters raced past UAB 82-56 to claim the Conference USA West Division title at the Thomas Assembly Center.
After losing its first four Conference USA games, Tech (19-10) won 11 of its last 14, including the final four of the year.
It’s the first conference title by the Lady Techsters since the 2011 Western Athletic Conference crown.
And in the league-clinching win, it was the usual suspects for the Lady Techsters as Keiunna Walker scored 20 points and Anna Larr Roberson added 19. However, it was a total team effort as Lotte Sant added 12 points and Robyn Lee chipped in with 11 points.
With the win, the Lady Techsters will be the No. 1 seed from the West Division in the upcoming C-USA Tournament which starts Tuesday in Frisco. The Lady Techsters will get a double bye and will face the winner of WKU-UAB on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Star.
