Cedar Creek Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competed at their first state competition this weekend in Baton Rouge.

Out of 12 students attending the conference, eight placed in the top 3 in the state advancing on to the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta next month. In total, the students received five first place, two second place, three third place, and two finalist placements.

 

Louisiana DECA also elected two Cedar Creek students as Louisiana State Officers: Kate Myers, Louisiana DECA State President, and Devika Dua, Louisiana DECA Vice President of Leadership. Below are the names of our finalists and medal recipients:

DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. The organization prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and education in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business areas.
