RCT hosts Frozen Jr. auditions

Ruston Community Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for the upcoming show Frozen JR. directed by Steele Moegle and sponsored by Jonesboro State Bank Pledge 10 Grant.

Frozen’s book is by Jennifer Lee, with the music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The junior show is based on the Disney film written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. The original Broadway production of Frozen was directed by Michael Grandage and produced by Disney Theatrical Productions. The show dates will be Wednesday-Saturday, June 15-18, 2022.

The audition dates are Saturday, April 2, at 10:00 AM, and Monday, April 4, at 6:00 PM at the Dixie Center for the Arts in Ruston. Auditions are open to ages 8-18 with no prior experience necessary. The director would prefer youngest auditioning to have completed the third grade; the oldest may be in their senior year of high school. Those auditioning should prepare 16-20 bars of a song to sing and may either choose to perform a 30-45 second monologue/short poem, or perform a cold read from the script. The director expects to double cast the lead roles.
