Dogs start homestand; Techsters in Oxford

Louisiana Tech begins a five-game homestand tonight when the Bulldogs (25-11) host Little Rock with first pitch at JC Love Field at Pat Patterson Park slated for 6 p.m.

The contest can be heard live on 97.7 FM and on the LA Tech Athletics app.

Tech will then host Northwestern State Wednesday in advance of opening up a three-game Conference USA series against Middle Tennessee on Friday (thru Sunday).

Head coach Lane Burroughs are coming off a series road win at Marshall and enter the week alone in second place in the Conference USA standings, trailing only league leader Southern Miss.

“This is a big week for us,” said Burroughs. “We have two tough midweek games and then will face a really good Middle Tennessee team that returns everybody from last year. Greg Martinez will get the start (tonight) and then we will probably go with ‘Johnny All-Staff’ on Wednesday.

“This weekend is big. Heck, every conference weekend is big. I know we are excited to be back home and are looking forward to playing in front of our fans.”

Little Rock (16-14) rolls into play having lost its last three games, two coming against Arkansas State and one to Central Arkansas last Tuesday.

The Bulldogs and Trojans will meet for the 85th time on Tuesday night with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 59-25.

The Demons (16-18) traveled down to Thibodaux to face off with Nicholls State over the weekend with Nicholls taking two out of three games.

The Bulldogs and Demons will meet for the 134th time on Tuesday night with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 81-52.
