Woman flees house to escape armed male

A Ruston man was arrested by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department early Sunday morning after he allegedly fired several gunshots, terrorizing a woman.

Deputies responded to the Peachland Mobile Home Park on U.S. 80 west of Ruston around midnight Sunday morning. The woman reported the individual was off his medications and had threatened to burn her home down. She said Reginald Poe, 29, had been using methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, and alcohol and was violent and armed with a handgun. She fled the house when he fired gunshots nearby.

Poe called his the woman’s cell phone while deputies were present, and Deputy Allen Smith convinced him to come outside where he was arrested.

Poe was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for aggravated assault with a firearm. Bail had not been set as of Monday afternoon.
