Woman arrested walking in traffic

A woman was arrested early Saturday morning after a Ruston Police officer observed her allegedly walking along the road with her pants down below her buttocks.

RPD Officer K. Davidson had dealt with Martha Jackson, 33, of Dubach, earlier when she reportedly was walking in the roadway and throwing rocks at cars.

When she was seen again on East Georgia Ave., Davidson stopped and directed her to pull her pants up. The officer’s report notes Jackson began “talking nonsense” and walked into the roadway.

Jackson was arrested and as Davidson attempted to handcuff her, she burned the officer on the hand with a cigarette. She pulled away multiple times before she could be handcuffed and then physically resisted being placed in a patrol car.

Jackson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for obscenity, simple obstruction of a roadway, and resisting an officer.
