The Ruston 9u Americans earned a spot in the upcoming Dixie World Series.
The team is coached by Cody Channell, Chris Doolittle and Tim Shaw and finished third at the Dixie State Tournament in Monroe last weekend. The Ruston boys lost 3-2 to Blanchard in 11 innings on Sunday in a more than 3-hour contest. That’s pretty solid pitching a defense for a final score like that in 11 innings on any level of baseball.
The Ruston squad will need that same pitching and defense when it competes in the Dixie World Series in Monroe on July 21 through the 23rd. Ruston’s pool will include teams from Monroe, Texarkana, Ark., Hallsville, Texas, Ellisville, Miss., and Blanchard, La.
Members of the Ruston 9u Americans includes: Dailen Beckwith, Bear Brasher, Lane Channell, Brantlee Doolittle, Levi McCulloch, Thad Power, Henry Pullin, Abram Riser, Lucas Shaw, Cooper Stoehr, Jameson Sutton and Charlie Williams.
The Lincoln Parish Journal is proud of these young men and wishes them the best in Monroe.
