Manager accused of stealing restaurant proceeds

A local business was the victim of an apparent embezzlement of over $4,000 during the last week of August.

An official with Kentucky Fried Chicken reported to Ruston Police that four deposits were missing from the restaurant at 211 West California Avenue in Ruston. The four deposits were to be made August 27, 29, 30 and 31 totaling $4,194.62. The official said she went to the KFC restaurant to talk with general manager Sharon Marshall, 52, of Monroe.

Marshall reportedly admitted stealing the four deposits from the restaurant for personal use.

Ruston Police spoke to Marshall at KFC. She refused to answer any questions and was arrested for felony theft and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

Bail was set at $10,000.
