Mathis Cheboi finished third and the Grambling State University women’s team placed third during the Warhawk Invitational at Charles Johnson Children’s Park.
WOMEN’S RESULTS
- Grambling State finished with 88 points to claim third
- Louisiana-Monroe won the meet with 31 points
- Louisiana registered 33 points to place second
- Louisiana Tech (102), Northwestern State (113) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (125) rounded out the six-team field
HOW THEY FARED – WOMEN
- Ruth Kibet led the Lady Tigers with a sixth-place finish in 19:37
- Mercy Kwambai was ninth in 19:57
- Sharon Laibich placed 12th in 20:27
- Lillian Thuo and Sascha Greene finished 30th and 37th, respectively, in times of 23:39 and 32:05
MEN’S RESULTS
- Louisiana won the meet with 29 points
- Louisiana-Monroe (54), Jackson State (85), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (90), Northwestern State (103) and Louisiana Tech (164) rounded out the scoring
HOW THEY FARED – MEN
- Mathias Cheboi was just off the pace, taking third in 22:08
- Miciah Myles crossed the line in 28:19
- Devin Malone and Anthony Davis recorded times of 29:24.0 and 30:50
