
Louisiana Tech’s School of Theatre is seeking local community works to highlight in its upcoming fall festival.
The School of Theatre’s 2022 Fall Theatre Festival, titled “Invisible Voices,” will display original works about underrepresented people or communities written by authors from within Lincoln Parish. The school is actively seeking submissions to be included in its 2022-2023 season.
Submissions are open to anyone in Lincoln Parish. The school is looking for submissions of original
works. They welcome and encourage a diverse range of profiles for applicants in this festival, including Black, Asian, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ+, as well as religiously and economically diverse ones.
The Festival is accepting submissions through 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. Six to eight pieces will be selected for production.
Please submit any works to Dr. Jeremy Reynolds at reynolds@latech.edu. The Fall Theatre Festival productions will be announced at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 in the Stone Theatre. Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 in Stone Theatre. Production run dates are Oct. 20 – 23, 2022.
Stipulations of the Festival:
– Must be original work
– Must be a Short Play, Poem, Film, or Song
– Must involve no more than four to six characters.
– Must exemplify inclusion, equity, and/or diversity in some way.
– Must not exceed 15 minutes of stage time.
– Auditions will be open to anyone.
– Tech theatre majors, minors, and graduate students must audition.
– Students in the beginning and advanced acting classes are required to participate in the festival.
