Ruston High volleyball won in three sets Thursday night at home against Loyola in a very competitive match up by final scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-23.
“This was a great match for us going into the weekend,” Ruston head coach Lucie Hunt said after the victory. “We have a very stacked schedule this weekend. A lot of great teams that are very, very competitive. This was great for us to get going. Loyola has great position players; their setter is amazing.
The Lady Bearcats led in the first set 13-12 before pulling away with an 8-1 run to lead 21-13. A service ace at the end gave Ruston a 25-23 win.
The second set saw Ruston go on a 6-0 run to extend a lead to 18-12. Loyola pulled back in, but Ruston was able to hold on 25-23. The third set went in a similar fashion before Ruston finished with a 25-23 win to improve their record to 10-2 on the season.
