Domestic incident in Grambling leads to two arrests

Grambling police responded to a fight at an Edith Rose Lane residence Wednesday, leading to two arrests.

A witness told a responding officer she had seen Joaquin Wix, 25, fighting with a former boyfriend, Latario Davis, 23, in the parking lot. While trying to sort out the situation, officers learned Wix was wanted on three bench warrants from Ruston City Court.

It was learned Wix allegedly struck Davis in the face several times. Davis told officers he had driven to the complex to give someone a ride. While waiting, Wix approached and attacked him. Davis said he had to slam Wix to the ground to defend himself.

A records check showed Davis had apparently violated a protective order in coming near Wix’s residence. He was arrested for battery of a dating partner and violation of a protective order.

Officers located Wix in her apartment and placed her under arrest for battery of a dating partner and the three bench warrants. Both were booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
