Sean M. Dwyer, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Entrepreneurship, received Baylor University’s Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award in the Social Science category for the 2021-2022 academic year. The award recognizes graduate students’ research productivity in areas such as research projects, participation in research events and conferences, presentations and publications, and future research plans.
“One of the best pieces of advice that I received is to ‘pray’ about our research because God cares so much about our work as scholars,” Dwyer said, referencing Colossians 3:17. “I have taken this encouragement that I received to heart during my time here at Baylor, so I cannot receive this award without first sharing this.”
Dwyer’s doctoral research centers on social entrepreneurship that focuses on business activities that make a difference and have a positive impact on communities, societies, and the world.
Dwyer is the son of Linda and Sean Dwyer of Ruston. He is a Cedar Creek graduate and received his bachelor’s in finance and master’s in accounting from Tulane University.
